We are Tyler & Rachel Irwin, and along with our two children, we run a row crop, hay, and small cattle operation. Along with our love for tradition farming, we also enjoy providing locally grown cut flowers, produce, eggs, and other local products from our farmstand which was added to our farm in 2024 to honor Rachel’s parents who passed in 2023. We love caring for the soil of Iowa, and feel honored to serve you with locally grown, farm fresh products from our farmstand.
Iowa Grown Market is a seasonal, roadside market and greenhouse, offering farm-fresh produce and healthy, locally grown plants.
Turn off your phone and unwind on the porch with a beverage while watching birds and distant grazing cattle. Mulberry Cottage Farm Stay has a pond view and is situated on a 200-acre working cattle ranch and is divided by a wading creek and hiking trails. You are shaded by Mulberry and Osage Orange trees, home to frequent birdlife. We love the solitude and rest here on the farm while still enjoying a short drive to town. Fresh sourdough bread with Mulberry preserves, and farm fresh eggs are provided for your breakfast.

Hinterland Dairy is a family owned dairy and on farm cheese processing facility. Producing farmstead cheese, using milk only from our family's herd, Hinterland crafts fresh cheese curds weekly, as well as a variety of cheddars and fresh spreadable award winning quark. Premium ice cream is also made onsite. The farm sits among the beautiful rolling hills of Southeast Iowa. Group tours are available by appointment only.
For over 30 years, local families have been enjoying their visits to Kroul Farms to purchase fresh produce straight from our 20-acre garden and sweet corn patch, explore our many greenhouses bursting with flowers, gather fall decorations and pumpkins, enjoy our corn maze and spooky fall displays, and to see farm animals. There is no admission or fees of any kind to enjoy the farm, but certainly encourage a trip to our farm store. We love offering families this time together each fall to explore, learn, and slow down for a bit.

Berries, our specialty for 50+ years. Our website has a calendar that lists dates for in season produce. We offer pick your own, pay by the pound, or you can order pre-picked strawberries, cherries, haskap (honey berries), raspberries of all colors, blueberries, currants, and gooseberries.
Appleberry Orchard is an apple orchard & pumpkin farm. Open seasonally Aug. - Oct. and Thanksgiving - Christmas. Farm market store with bakery, Appleberry Acres Play area & Petting Farm. Fall weekend attractions include large play area, wagon rides, corn maze, Tractor Train, Pumpkin Chucker, Pig Races, Mega Slide, food concessions and more!
