Turn off your phone and unwind on the porch with a beverage while watching birds and distant grazing cattle. Mulberry Cottage Farm Stay has a pond view and is situated on a 200-acre working cattle ranch and is divided by a wading creek and hiking trails. You are shaded by Mulberry and Osage Orange trees, home to frequent birdlife. We love the solitude and rest here on the farm while still enjoying a short drive to town. Fresh sourdough bread with Mulberry preserves, and farm fresh eggs are provided for your breakfast. Experience where your food comes from by visiting our farm store, gathering eggs, or tasting vegetables out of the garden. Your eyes will be opened to our sustainable practices and how agriculture related activities can be fun and rewarding. Pitch hay, try pond fishing, call the cows, view wildlife, or attend the Indianola Farmers Market. Available for purchase are our tallow candles and healing balms. We keep a selection of steaks, roasts, beef sticks or dogs to grill at the fire pit, or take home when you leave. Custom bundling is available as are larger amounts to order by 1/4, 1/2 or whole and you get to see the beef in the butcher beef lot. If a farm tour interests you, we will do a walking tour which takes about one hour, or drive you in a machine with seatbelts and a cab. You will expect the elements of nature including dust, bugs and all the smells that accompany livestock as we get an “up close” visit with the cattle. We invite you to talk with us about your special booking or event and we will try to accommodate your day trip or overnight farm stay at Ohnemusbeef and Mulberry Cottage Farm-Stay.
