The Gardens at Whitmer Woods
Situated on the banks of Sugar Creek in Cedar County, our flower farm is on land that has been owned and stewarded by our family since 1849. Here at the Gardens at Whitmer Woods, we plant and grow over 40 beds of annuals and perennials each year. We supply blooms to local farmers markets, bouquet subscriptions, weddings and special events. Our farm is host to you-pick events, available for on-site events and gatherings, and also host to educational children's programs and demonstrations. In amongst the bountiful blooms and whispering woods, the Gardens are home to some beloved farm cats, chickens, birds, bees, butterflies, hummingbirds and other native wildlife. Sunset at the Gardens is often a transitional time, where a crowd favorite is to usher in the evening enjoying a campfire under the stars. Here at the Gardens at Whitmer Woods, we are all about sowing seeds. Our flowers and farm are our vehicle to connecting with the people of Iowa and connecting people of all ages to our beloved Iowa home. Not only do we sow seeds for the next growing season, we sow seeds for memories and moments to be made. Through our Sprouts program, we seek to grow a love of land and learning in future generations. Please join us and experience for yourself the moments and memories to be made as the Earth smiles in flowers here at the Gardens at Whitmer Woods. Be a part of the miracles and the moments of connecting, crafting, creating and cultivating.
